Dr. Amanda Battaglia grew up in Plano, TX before being transplanted to San Diego when she was 13.  She fell in love with animals from an early age and volunteered at the San Diego Wild Animal Park as a teenager cleaning cages and helping with the Rare and Wild America Show.  She moved to Davis, California for college and went on to UC Davis veterinary school after working a few years in the pharmaceutical industry in the San Francisco area.  Her next 20 years after graduating as a veterinarian were spent in the Sacramento area, treating dogs and cats and the occasional rabbit, bird, or reptile.  After raising two amazing children, she has moved to Kentuckiana to be closer to extended family and is enjoying getting to know all the area has to offer.  When she isn’t spending time at the hospital, you can find her enjoying time with family, exploring historical sites and museums, and practicing amateur photography.
