Dr. Edwards grew up in a small town in Lincoln County where she began her love of veterinary medicine by taking care of farm animals, cats and dogs, and occasionally injured wildlife. She then received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Kentucky and earned her DVM from the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine. Following vet school, she began her career working in emergency medicine in Austin, TX and then in Lexington, KY. She enjoyed the challenge of emergency medicine but wanted the opportunity to get to know her patients and their owners better, so she became part of the team at East Louisville Animal Hospital. She loves getting the chance to watch new puppies and kittens as they grow up and helping adult pets stay healthy as they age. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, nutrition, and all aspects of feline medicine and behavior. She’s never met a cat she didn’t like!

Dr. Edwards lives in Jeffersontown with her husband, son, four cats, two dogs, and a small flock of chickens. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and riding bicycles and motorcycles.
